UCC: Universal Copyright Convention

Universal Copyright Convention (UCC) was developed by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an alternative to the Berne Convention for those states which disagreed with aspects of the Berne Convention, but still wished to participate in some form of multilateral copyright protection adopted in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1952. UCC revised at Paris on July 24, 1971 and under its terms, each signatory nation extends to foreign works the same copyright protection it gives to works published within its territory by one of its own citizens.
